Avionics Integration and Test Engineer

Job Description:

This profile seeks to hire a highly competent integration and Test engineer whose work is focused on ensuring that Avionics modules and sub-systems are effectively tested and efficiently integrated and to ensure reliable operation of launch vehicle.

Roles and Responsibilities: Will typically include (but not restricted to),

  • Develop, augment, and support integration and testing of components, from subsystems to the full launch vehicle.
  • Work with avionics hardware and software designers, to gather requirements, design test plans, determine applicable test cases, and prepare for running the tests.
  • Develop detailed Failure mode effects and analysis/ fault tree analysis for various subsystems by working close with design and quality teams.
  • Independently take up functional and environmental testing responsibility for various avionics modules and subsystems by coordinating respective designers.
  • Execute test plan and generate test reports.
  • Actively engage with vendors providing testing and various other services.

Minimum Qualifications and Skills

  • Diploma/Bachelors / Masters in Electronics Engineering or equivalent (ECE / EEE / EIE / Mechatronics)
  • 3-8 years of relevant work experience, preferably in Aerospace / Defense / Automotive domains.
  • Very good hands experience in all sorts of environmental testing of electronics systems for Space and Defense applications.
  • Hands on experience in developing and executing test plans.
  • Experience with Electrical integration and harnessing software like Zuken E3, SW electrical etc.
  • Proficiency in Matlab/Labview/Python etc.
  • Excellent communication & articulation skills – both written and verbal

Aerospace Quality Engineer

Job Description:

The position is responsible to ensure the strict quality compliance is maintained with the ultimate goal of Zero-defect components meeting the delivery targets

Roles and Responsibilities: Will typically include (but not restricted to),

  • Work closely with the design and manufacturing teams to understand raw material requirements, in-process quality requirements, product test plans and requirements
  • In-Process inspection of composites and metallic components including tooling
  • Generate and maintain Quality documents including QAPs, Dimensional inspection reports, process log sheets and in-process check lists, NDT reports, test reports etc.
  • Raw materials, fasteners and seals qualification and acceptance.
  • Raise, Maintain and follow up for closure of Non-conformance reports.

Minimum Qualifications and Skills

  • At least 3 years of experience with a minimum 1 years of Aerospace or Defence experience in a quality engineering role
  • Familiarity with NDT techniques such as UT, RT, CR and experience in interpreting Radiography films
  • Knowledge on raw material testing standards such as ASTM/ISO for metallics and composites
  • Familiarity with quality acceptance standards for aerospace grade fasteners & seals desirable

Design Engineer - Space Mechanisms

Job Description:

The position is responsible to design complex systems and mechanisms for the various flight applications from the conceptual stage to design qualification

Roles and Responsibilities: Will typically include (but not restricted to),

  • Optimum design of mechanical systems considering reliability, manufacturing, qualification, integration and other system level aspects
  • Perform hand calculations to arrive at conceptual designs and create 2D / 3D CAD models for product visualizations, development and prototyping.
  • Interface with analysis, manufacturing, quality, integration, testing & project teams to define the clear design and qualification scope
  • Perform basic FEA analysis where required
  • Design test rigs & make test plans for the qualification of individual components and assemblies

  • Minimum 3+ Years of Experience in Multibody Systems / New product Design & Development.

Embedded Software Engineer (Avionics)

Roles and Responsibilities: Will typically include (but not restricted to),

  • Design & develop RTOS based mission control software running necessary navigation, guidance, sequencing & control algorithms.
  • Define software development processes needed to build software of highest reliability for the missions.

Skills / Requirements:

  • Excellent proficiency in RTOS / Bare Metal application development for safety critical systems.
  • Excellent proficiency in C language for embedded applications.
  • Good understanding of general RTOS concepts, multi-threading, ISRs, register level programming, hardware exception handling, timing etc.
  • Strong inclination towards architecture centric thinking and meticulous programming practices

Lead - Aerospace Systems Development

Job Description:

This position assumes complete responsibility for leading and executing launch vehicle systems development and flight qualification efforts at Skyroot Aerospace. The role requires good understanding of all activities involved in developing space grade metallic and composite components

Roles and Responsibilities: Will typically include (but not restricted to),

  • Lead multiple teams with varied skills and expertise in aerospace design, manufacturing, integration, quality, supply chain & project management
  • Review and clear the engineering drawings, design documents, structural analysis reports, manufacturing process documents, integration documents, test plans, post-test reports etc.
  • Ensure the quality management system is followed and all appropriate approvals for quality documents are obtained
  • Interface with all teams including aerodynamics, controls, electronics etc to ensure the cleared designs are most optimum at the entire systems level and for manufacturability.
  • Interface with project management and supply chain teams for managing program schedules and budgets
  • Act as the technical focal point for Skyroot Aerospace with external industry and government partners
  • Assist in building a world class teams by identifying the gaps within the teams, providing appropriate on-the-job training and hiring right candidates at the right time

Minimum Qualifications and Skills

  • At least 10+ years of experience in a similar role with an Aerospace OEM
  • At least 5 years of experience in design, manufacturing & qualification of aerospace grade composite components
  • At least 3 years of experience in FEA involving one or more among linear, non-linear, dynamics, vibrations, thermal etc.
  • Hands on exposure to in-process quality for integration of large assemblies in Aerospace or Defense
  • Knowledge on raw material testing standards such as ASTM/ISO for metallics and composites
  • Hands on exposure to various testing methods such as structural, hydraulic/pneumatic pressure, explosive hot fire tests etc will be desired
  • Experience building and leading large technical teams in an aerospace environment will be highly preferred

Propulsion & Test Engineer

Job Description:

Skyroot Aerospace is seeking a highly talented Propulsion Engineer to join a rapidly growing space-tech start-up. The candidate will be associated with the Propulsion Team.

Roles and Responsibilities: Will typically include (but not restricted to),

  • Design and development, testing and post test data processing of Propulsion System Components.
  • Responsible for Propulsion system/ Major Sub-Systems, with the goal of delivering the entire task from concept to completion in accordance with the development plan.
  • Generate Propulsion System’s Numerical/Analytical models.
  • Review and Interpret P&ID, operating procedures, and other discipline documents.
  • Design & Modelling of test facility and assist in test facility operations.
  • Design fixtures for test article, carry out qualification tests for the liquid propulsion systems.
  • Develop test procedures and analyze test data.
  • Align resources to accomplish key objectives, assign clear accountability for important objectives.
  • Closely collaborate with the manufacturing team.

Candidate Requirement:
